Aldara Lawsuit
Aldara is imiquimod cream. The
cream is an immune response modifier for topical
application. Aldara Cream is used:
· For the surface of the affected area to treat
clinically typical, nonhyperkeratotic and nonhypertrophic
actinic keratoses on the face and scalp adults that are
immunocompetent
· The cream is also used to treat biopsy-confirmed,
primary superficial basal cell carcinoma in adults who are
immunocompetent.
· To treat genital and perianal warts in patients that
are 12 years or older.
Aldara is to be applied twice a week for a total of 16 full
weeks to a specific treatment area on the face or scalp. The
cream is to be applied before normal sleeping hours and left
for 8 hours on the skin and should then be removed by
washing the region with soft soap and water. Aldara is not
to be use orally, ophthalmic, or intravaginaly. Avoid
contact with the eyes, lips and nostrils.
Aldara Cream contains 250mg of the cream and supplied in
single-use packets and packaged in boxes containing 12
packets each.
Each gram of Aldara contains 50mg of imiquimod
in an off-white oil-in-water vanishing cream base that
consist of the following:
· Isostearic acid
· Cetyl alcohol
· Stearyl alcohol
· White petrolatum
· Polysorbate 60
· sorbitan monostearate
· glycerin
· xanthan gum
· purified water
· benzyl alcohol
· Methylparaben
· Propylparaben
Side effects of Aldara can include but are not limited to:
· Application site reaction
o Itching
o Burning
o Bleeding
o Stinging
o Pain
o Induration
o Tenderness
o Irritation
· Upper respiratory tract infection
· Sinusitis
· Headache
· Carcinoma Squamous
· Diarrhea
· Eczema
· Back Pain
· Fatigue 3
· Fibrillation Atrial
· Infection Viral
· Dizziness 3
· Vomiting
· Urinary Tract Infection
· Fever
· Rigors
· Alopecia
Sunlight exposure should be minimized or avoided during the
use of Aldara and patients with sunburn should not use
Aldara.
